Attended the International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML 2019) held in July in Vancouver, BC, Canada
I helped co-organize the Entrepreneurs for Sustainability (EN4S) series of events, culminating on October 12-13 with a hackathon, where I served as a mentor for the competing teams
In support of the above, on October 2nd I organized the Data and Visualization meet Sustainability Entrepreneurship event for the Data Science for Social Good meetup group, and spoke on "Entrepreneurship in the age of data science"
In May, I talked at the PIMS Workshop on Mathematical Sciences and Clean Energy Applications about Home-energy forecasting for storage optimization and how I got into clean energy.
On February 28th, I talked about "Identifying and visualizing home energy patterns" at the Data Viz meets Sustainable Energies event co-hosted by the Vancouver Data Visualization and Data Science for Social Good meetup groups.

Together with fellow data scientist Annie Ying, I started co-organizing the Data Science for Social Good Vancouver meetup
Attended the Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM 2018) of the American Statistical Association held in July in Vancouver, BC, Canada
Volunteered at BCSEA's 2nd annual Women in Sustainable Energy Networking Event

Attented the Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference (GECCO 2017) held in July in Berlin, Germany and presented the two recently published journal papers in the Hot off the Press track
Paper on relationships between machine learning and co-optimization accepted for publication in the Journal of Machine Learning Research.
Paper on co-optimization free lunch accepted for publication in the journal Evolutionary Computation

On January 22nd, talked at SFU as part of the PIMS-CSC Seminar of the Applied Mathematics research group of the Department of Mathematics about "The Tractability of Best Algorithms for Co-optimization: Visualization-Driven Mathematics".

Talked about "Small Data, Rich Data: Exploratory Analysis and Visualization" at SFU as part of the Seminar Series of the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science on November 27th. See materials.
